Journal Post: A Morning With My Daughters

Today we woke up and got to work. We had a breakfast of sliced watermelon followed by chores done with the motivation of a fun day out with friends. We learned that Brooke needs serious instruction when it comes to handling a vacuum. And that a sink full of dishes can bring her to tears. We learned that Morgan doesn't believe that sweeping the floor includes getting items off the floor that were dropped by a sister, the dropper must be a mystery or she is not responsible for sweeping it up. Also Kate is getting pretty dang good at making her bed.

After the house was in good order and teeth were brushed, we loaded our van with friends and headed to a museum. Only to find that it was closed. So we went to the library and did a craft, grabbed some books then decided to treat ourselves to some snow cones. It was supposed to be one of the best snow shacks in town, but it was closed too. Why? So we stopped at the newly updated park, but the girls didn't last long before they were sitting on the grass asking for food. So daughters were fed with noodles and pizza before we headed to  another snow shack that was actually open during it's posted hours. By now, dark clouds were rolling in and we could hear thunder. So we got our ice treats to go and ran to the van just as the first raindrops were falling. On the drive home from our afternoon out it poured rain like I haven't seen in a very long time. Huge drops bombarded the car, making it so loud inside we could hardly hear each other. Water pooled on the road within minuets, it made for an adventurous drive home and a thrilling end to a pretty great afternoon.
